Sonor's Designer Series have great sound quality, reliability, durability and above all, can be tailormade tp a specific musical style.
Combining precisiom handcrafting methods with modern technology, German-based Sonor has been making high quality percussion since 1875. Like the Signature, Foice and Hilite Series, the Designer Series builds on Sonor's commitment to excellence in every facer of the manufacturing process. Sonor achieved this by recruiting an International Design Team that worked out the quidelines for the drums amd hardware.
During Designer development, Sonor made an important decition, to let the musician create the ideal kit. The Designer Series gives each drummer the greatest amount of flexibility currengtly avialable in a single line of drums from a major manufacturer. In addition to the dimensions and finish of the drum shell, the wood, shell thickness, depth and the lugs can be individually selected.
The pragmatic design as well as eye-catching of the Designer Series are the result of a unique styling concept, Sonor has incorporated its traditional logo
of two mallets, which identifies the company around the world into the actual components of the drums and hardware. This symbol has been condenced to its
basic shape and can be found in the shape of the lugs, bass drum spurs, floor tom leg mounts, tom holders, tension rods for bass drum hoops and the 5000
Series hardware. The idea of intergrating function and beauty was the main priority of the Sonor engineering team.
And it is Sonor's hope that by looking at the Designer Series, you will easily recognize the company's efforts to combine the success of the past with the
needs of the future. When you sit down and play them for the first time, you will realize that this true.
Drumming is the best example of the rule that many factors can influence how something sounds. Just notice how different a snare drum sounds when played in a recording studio as compared to a night club. The factors affecting sound that a drum manufacturer should be more concerned with are shell construction, wood type, lugs and mounts and the way the drum is mounted to a holder or stant.
Sonor devoted most of their time while developing the Designer Series to these crucial aspects at the manufacturing process. On the practical side, Sonor was concerned with handling, transport, durality and environmental considerations. Sonor also had to strongly consider form, material finish, color, and acoustics. Obviously, the goal was to design an instrument that provides the musician with the highest level of ergonomics, functionality and satisfaction.
